Navigation screen at night

Does anyone know if you can change the navigation screen at night to the brighter version of black background with the lights on?

If I turn the dash dimmer down it changes from white background to black...

Then if you change the dash dimmer to full bright (wheel clicks) the dark background gets a brightness boost for an instant then goes to a white background again.

Would love to have that brighter black background all the time.., is it possible?

Yes, it's called day mode or something like that. At least on my 2012. You just have to find it in the settings on the screen. Mine seems to revert after I shut the car off though so I have to go find it again every now and then.

On my 2016, I just adjust the dial to left of the steering wheel that controls dash light brightness all the way up.

In my 2014, I can't find a DAYMODE setting .

Funny this is, when I move the dimmer wheel down the NAV goes into dark mode but continuing to adjust it down doesn't change the brightness of the dark mode on the NAV. It only affects the dash lights.

Basically there is only 1 level of brightness when in dark mode.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe in the settings of the actual NAV system, there is a screen brightness option.

I don't think its possible to have a brighter "night mode" just the highest setting just before the day mode "click"

OK I figured it out.

When you are driving with the lights on, move your dimmer switch down past the click.

Then go to apps, setup, display, general and here is where you adjust the brightness contrast when in night mode (i.e. Lights on and dimmer switch down)

This is a separate setting for brightness/contrast

The other brightness/contrast settings is accessible when you have your lights off OR when you have your lights on and dimmer switch all the way up

Wow thanks I had a similar issue come up today. I often drive with headlights on during the day, but it makes the dash lights pretty dim. Can they also be adjusted to be brighter when the lights are on?

just roll the dimmer up till it clicks and it will be day mode

only thing that will still be dim is the clock
