Need bigger fender flares

I am sick of getting hassled by the local PD. I currently have flares from bushwacker, but the are only +1.5". With my 35x12.5 I still need about 2-3 more inches of flare. So does anybody know where I can find 4-5 inch fender flares for a 93?

you might have to get some bushwacker "cut out" flares and do a custom job

I have a 2nd Gen as well, and couldn't find anything ready-made bigger than those Extend-a-fenders, either. I've seen the pocket style flares made to fit, as OU4x4 mentioned above, but wouldn't know which ones to suggest to start with. There is also the molded rubber flare material that you cut to length and fit inside your current flares--won't look as good as a single custom piece, but if it gets the cops off your back, it might be worth it. Places like Low Range Offroad carry those. By the way, that's a darn good-looking rig!

Not exactly a flair but what about some glass fenders up front and some mud flaps out back?

I believe the glassworks are 3" additional coverage up front with a 3" rise in the arch.

89 to 94 front fenders

Should give you enough coverage to keep the cops off your back.

Or you may want to look into some 2002 ford superduty bushwaker cutouts and cut and modify to fit. they are 4.5" of coverage

I dunno what the OP's intentions are for his rig, but fiberglass usually doesn't hold up too well in the rocks and mud. Just ask all the step-side chevy guys.

Only thing I can really offer for help has already been stated. Gonna have to do some custom work. Either that or make friends with a cop that has seniority/leverage over others. Good luck :thumb3:

Depending on how far the tires stick past the fender flairs, I have been contemplating the superduty cutouts. A little plastic weld and steel backing strips on the cut lines and they could work out well. Place them where you want them, drill and mount.

Only thing is with the rear and trying to make something work. I would probably try to cut and weld the rear arch up higher in line with the door arch, and cut the superduty flairs to match.

Although, based on what the OP stated, he is just looking for coverage, not really clearance.

Seriously though, have you tried to just add mudflaps to the back. Get some big rig ones and make some mounts. Most cops are going to hassle you for the rear as it flings everything up and out. As long as from the rear you have the tire behind a flap, that may be all you need to do. Look at all the jeeps out there.

I just saw that Bushwaker makes a cutout for the 89-95 pickups. offers 3" coverage. That would be your best bet. Pick up a set and work with them to make them work for you.

If you have 4" tire showing past the fender, you will probably be fine with a 3" flair. Most cops won't mess with you over an inch.

Funny how life throws you curve balls. I actually sold off the tons and 38's. Gonna keep it IFS for a while longer. Money was better put elsewhere for the time being.
