Need help getting half moon out

I have the passenger valve cover off and pulled out the front half moon easy with some channel locks wrapped in tape, but there is no room to fit pliers for the back one and my fingers aren't strong enough. There's no room even for needle nose pliers between the end of the camshaft, and the handle cant fit under the lines mounted at the back of the engine compartment.

Whats the trick to this?

Also I read somewhere it's necessary to remove the bracket bolted right behind the cam plug, but seems like it's not required after I went to the effort?

Get some 9" tapered end vise grips and try those. Unless you have hands the size of King Kong I would think regular Vise Grips 6" and smaller would suffice. Or invest in some 11" 45degree pliers.

I cannot even remember why I took out the bracket (did mine in 2009) but if you got the cam plug out and can put it back in with ease, then leave it I guess.
