need help knock sensor problems

ok so 2 weeks ago i was driving to a friend house to get my bumper cnc cut when i lost all power on the highway i have a super charger and i was pushing 7 psi when it shouldn't like on a flat or down hill truck had a hard time going over 65 and when i hit a hill i was at 50 usually hills are not a problem for a sc 4runner so i pulled over pulled out my code reader came back bad knock sensor ok no problem cleared the code drove a little while longer cel came back on and truck runs like crap again so i finally made it home at 60 mph using a tank of fuel in about 100 miles

called toyota orded my knock sensors some gaskets and a new harness

tonight i torn my engine down replace the sensors put it back together running great i hoped in my truck for a test drive bam 200ft down the road cel spun around went back to the shop to read the codes BAD KNOCK SENSOR :ybrick::ybrick: but i also pulled a back communication circuit code
any one else have this problem before im not mad about the 5 hours of labor i just spent on the truck its more the 600 bucks in parts

any help would be appreciated

Did you put them in dry? Don't use dielectric on the harness or sensors.

Is the sub-harness sitting correctly through the manifold? It's not pinched.

Which bank or is it both?

I went through the whole sensor problem a year ago. Mine was an easy fix - Use OEM not Napa.

so i did get pep boys sensors denso replacements toyota asked me denso or matushema but no one at toyota could tell me what one so i went to pepboys got the replacements for the densos realized my old sensors are stamped with a M for mastushema should this matter

I just dug up my receipt for my sensors I bought directly from my local dealer. You have the same year as me so they should be the same sensors. compare the ones you have to the photo in my link.

I just googled the PN and came up with an amazon true OEM link for $99 ea:

This looks legit.

There's also some OEM reference links that are knock-offs. Run the other way.

Stay clear of eBay unless one of the guys chimes in here and can validate whether it's a good seller or not. Specifically for knock sensors. If the ones you have are good, then great. If not, PEP boys should take them back.

One last thing. I hate to say this but you "should" pick up a new gasket kit. At least replace the intake manifold gaskets. Once you "crush" a gasket after you torque it, it becomes susceptible to vacuum leaks. I wouldn't worry too much at the plenum gaskets. Your call. Sucks I know.

EDIT: Couldn't tell you if it matters or not about the "M". I don't have any experience with the Matsuhema brand. After my experience, I would hesitate to use the PEP boys ones even if it's in a DENSO box.
