Need help: rear brake piston stuck (pressed brake with pads out)

I am replacing my rear brake pads and rotor and putting everything back together. My rear brake piston won't push back in. I tried pushing it in with a clamp and even used a cheater bar to try to rotate the c -clamp but it won't budge. There is a small amount of brake fluid around the boot. Any ideas?

Ugh, just realized I pressed the brake pedal while the pads were out to stick it in neutral. Any options to get this working?

Remove the brake line, then you can push it in. You will have to bleed the brakes after. Basically you will rebuild a caliper. Looks like the piston popped out of the caliper. Hence the brake fluid around the seal

Thanks. Do you think i could just remove the brake fluid cap or do I have to take the line off?

It's probably a little crooked.Try to move it to center it and it should slide back. It's just a cylinder with an o ring and a dust sheild.

Awesome, thanks, i rotated it and the piston pushed back in, but it may also be because I disconnect the brake line. Either way I'm on the right track now but need to bleed my brakes. Much appreciated!

bleeding brakes are easy: just connect hose, open nipple and turn ignition on without starting engine. pump feels low pressure in system, due to open nipple, will pump fluid itself. watch for bubbles end and close nipple.
