Need help!

Ok so here's the deal I have a 92 4Runner with 118,585 miles on it and I've had major issues with it since I've had it. I bought it used for $3700 off some guy and within two days I knew there was a problem with the tranny. I got around 200 miles out of it before the transmission needed to be replaced, I ordered a used transmission for $1600 put it in myself and got another 150 out of it... the company I ordered from is called Woodfin and they have a three year warranty on their products so after contacting them I was told that I could get another USED transmission or recieve my money back minus the $500 re-stocking fee. My original plan was to get my money back then have a transmission specialist rebuild my old one he told me he would rebuild it for $1500 but that would be just the rebuild. At this point I am seriously contemplating on selling it for what I can or parting it out because the frustration from taking the damn thing out then putting another in and repeating the same proccess over is overwhelming. If anyone has any smart ideas or anything that could help please respond.
-Thank You

Automatic or manual tranny? You can usually find guys parting out their runners on craigslist and find a tranny for a few hundred bucks, if that. OR you can go to a junkyard and get a tranny for a few hundred bucks.

What's wrong with the transmission?

That sounds ****ty, sorry you went through that man.

I would've bought a junkyard trans when the first went wrong. I wouldn't be rebuilding these things. And i'm getting tired of hearing about sketchy people AND companies, seems no one can trust anyone anymore.

The guy you bought it from probably flipped it, real common practice in all parts of the US.

If I were you i'd get your money back, buy a used one, and put it in. I can't really think of any better plan. You'll lose mountains of cash if you part it or sell it.

:(

Manual or auto trans?
It really helps to give us little details like what engine, trans, etc.
If it's a manual, get all the money back you can from the used trans place and get a rebuilt one from Marlin Crawler, they are better than new.

Don't go the junkyard route I did that and got shafted. If you really like the truck just bite the bullet and get it rebuilt. I got a 3 year unlimited mile warranty with my rebuilt trans.
