Need install advice: Rear link & shock skids

I still vote jack stand... knock out mounting bolt, leave other end attached, it shouldn't move. Any reason why that won't work?

Jack stand yes, I can understand the purpose and safety side.

As far as the knocking the bolt out, go try it on yours and report back how it went.

a center punch and BFH won't work?

edit do you mean that to get the bolt out, you need to pull the rear axle and lower link toward the front of the truck?

I just did the passenger side, impact the bolt loose, backed it out so far with the impact, the rear end pushed to the rear, I stopped.

Pulled the come a long out and had to put a pipe on it to pull the rear end in to be able to remove the bolt.

so long story short, use a come along or ratchet straps to holt the rear end.

Yah, I thought just pop the bolt out no problem, myself, NOT.

At first I tried the ratcheting strap, Not, couldn't get enough of a pull.

Where's my come along, dayum, get that pipe on that handle more leverage,
and that was after I tried w/out the pipe.

ratchet straps should do the trick if you have a pair. Or a come along is like 20 bucks at HD

I have a c-13 license, fence work. Was full time before the economy fell apart and decided to be a sub hauler now. Still do some fence work and don't need all of them now.

BUMP to remind myself I still haven't done this. Life got crazy, and the 4R rarely got driven, decided to sell, and now deciding to keep possibly forever, so got some parts that never got installed to install still.
