I have a 2wd 1998 4runner and cant figure out what to do with it , DO not wont to lower it and cant stand it stock would like to lift it but it is 2wd and would be a wast of money I think. I got it for cheap and have thought about making it 4x4 would not lose money if I did can do it all my self, what to do?

If you can do it, and it wont cost you anything and you feel like having fun that go for the 4x4 swap. If I was going to do it I would go SAS. You already have the reason to do it so go and do it.

What would be the best front axel to go with? And who has a good SAS kit? Thanks Also leaf spring or coil spring for front set up?

It's probably more money and trouble then it's worth to do the swap when you could just sell it and buy a 4x4 T4R for the same price. Good luck with whatever you decide though

The first thing you should do is paint that front chrome bumper black to match everything else.
Storm Trooper FTW!

Good luck on whatever you decide.

I plan on 4wd swapping mine just don't have the over head to buy another truck and parts swap. If you enjoy wrenching I say do it I'm really looking forward to start mine, If you SAS it I say do it all at once SAS/Conversion haha

other than that I don't think lifting it is a waste our trucks are more capable than you think in 2wd

4WD conversion is easy since you can do junkyard parts... Get an SR5 tcase and pneumatic switch to control ADD... make new crossmember and cut the trans tunnel for the shifter... Rest is bolt on... SAS is awesome I just don't agree on doing that unless you're prepped and not gonna half ass it
