New 1st Gen SoCal Member

Hey guys! I'm from Orange County and a new(a few weeks) 1st gen 4runner owner! I've always wanted one, So I looked and looked and found one that I didn't mind sitting in. (most 1st gens i've sat in were dirty, grimy, and missing everything or dented and beat up.

I bought it, in the process of getting it to pass smog, and registered it this morning. It was an purchase I really didn't think through. I have only 1 space to fit all my toys so I might get rid of this in the next few months. I'll enjoy it while I have it. I need something that can cruise 70mph comfortably. Whatever sells first goes!

Here is my 86'
Has redone interior (seats, carpet, panels) all around except rear liner.
newer paint but still a year or two old
I have stock newer 4runner wheels on it now but also have some 33x12.5x15s with wheels that I'm thinking of throwing on, but I like MPG so once in a while i'll throw them on. The rims were painted black at some point, But i sanded them down and brought back the chrome!

everything works, but I can't figure out how to roll down the window from the inside lol.

I would be willing to take it out, I'm on stock suspension, stock 95 4runner wheels so I'm not sure how i'd do. the 33s are way too big for my gears but look good (form> function) baby steps! haha

For the little local trails your stock rig is just fine and very capable. I wheel with two other guys that have total stock rigs. The 33s will run good on stock gears you just say goodbuy to 5th gear and that awesome little 22re works a little harder. When you wheel it just put in 4hi so it's as easy on the eng and drivetrain as possible.

^ If u put it in 4-LO its even easier. I'm running 33s with the stock(4.10) gearing and in 4LO its not too bad. Where u really notice it is on the freeway. Any hint of an incline and ur downshifting for sure! Heres a pic of our run last week up the White Mtn. Trail

No worries bro, just click on 'Forum Jump' at the top of the page, then click on the 'So Cal section'. Or u can scroll waaay down past the Vendor Section, to T4R and Surf section, click on 'American T4R Clubs', then click on 'So Cal'. Check out my 'Big Bear' Threads. Theres some vids posted, just don't remember which one.
