:hello: What's up guys. I've been lurking around here for a couple weeks before taking delivery of a new 2011 4Runner Limited in Magnetic Grey. I got this truck primarily for my lady to commute to work with and a weekend bug out vehicle to the mountains for snow or other weekend trips. I'm pretty excited because this is our first new car purchase. But I gotta say this site is dangerous when I see the serious mods some of you guys have done to these fairly new rigs. This is the 4th 4runner in my family. We have a 96 and 97 4x4 Limited T4R's and my little brother just bought a 2012 SR5 T4R in England (Air Force) also a 94 FZJ80 Land Cruiser. Add 3 more Toyota sedans and you know we are a brand loyal family.
I'm no noob with it comes to modding cars/ trucks. I've been a member on countless forums depending on the vehicle I was currently driving and working on. I made a living for 7 years as an Auto Tech when I was younger. But I'm really fighting the urge to keep the tools away from this one. Maybe after the new car feel wears off I'll be able to sneak a lift and some meaty tires by my girl.
My first vehicle was a 1985 Chevy K5 Blazer on a custom fabricated 5.5" suspension sitting on 42's. 1 ton axles front and rear 5.13 gears and a locker out back. Hydraulic steering with custom links. I miss hitting the trails with that rig but being on this site and back to the off road community is kind of a trip to memory lane for me.
