New 2016 SR5

Ok.....so I traded my '05 with just under 90K miles. I know, probably a mistake, since there was nothing wrong with it. I did replace one axle and rear shocks and the normal maintenance issues. The 2016 is defiinitely tight. The premium package is worth the extra cost. I'm almost to the point of no house payment, 4 months to go, and I thought what the hell, I could use a new vehicle. So I got another 4R. No kids at home. Being a cop, I have my age and time in so retirement is whenever I get completely over with what I'm doing, and in this climate, that's gonna be sooner than later. The Sof-Tech seats, fake leather, wear better than leather and are very plush. The only thing I didn't like was the new running boards. Instead of 'meeting with the rocker panels, there's a gap between the inner edge of the boards and the bottom of the rocker panel. Just gonna have to hit the car wash to hose of the ice and snow when it builds up. I'll post a pic soon of the new ride, but it is awesome. I did get the Barcelona Red in lieu of the silver I used to own only because I haven't seen any of that color on the road in my city. It's starting to look good. Back up camera is really nice. For Price inquiries, let me know.

Hey I actually am looking into getting a 4Runner. Currently own a 2011 FJ TT and I was wondering if you could tell me a bit more of the interior Sof-tech seats. Do you like them? Would you be able to post up some pics at all. I just joined so I'm off to the search button now...

Great news, also thanks for your community service...I have a 2015 TP, magnetic gray, that is approaching 3 months old in a few days and I really like it. My fourth Toyota, my first 4Runner or 4WD Toyota.

I went with NFab step bars, my truck had no running boards from the port. I was fortunate to find this truck in transit from Japan before it landed at the Gulf States Toyota port and before they could add their standard $10K of accessories, sarcasm of course on the $10K. The only option on my truck was the $220 premium carpet mats, that was it.

Mats are gone, Weathertechs going in this weekend.

The Softtech interior is nice, not leather, but think of it as a very high grade vinyl. It feels thick, and looks like it will be durable. If I could have the quality of leather my wife has in her Expedition Limited, I would be real happy.

Since I have the TP model, the interior only comes in black and the ST has a rough finish, so dust and dirt stick, shows dirt real well.

I have tried Meguires leather conditioner in a spot, but I think something like Armour All will work better, since the ST is essentially a synthetic.

I was in your area a few weeks ago, was in Skokie, had a deep dish pie for the first time, Giordanos.

I'm actually debating the same thing! I have an 06 however. The premium is worth the cost over the normal SR5 in my opinion. Its basically a Limited without any noticeable differences besides the wheels. Heck even the lack of Xreas is good when you consider lifting it down the road.

The soft tech seats are really nice. Talked to another guy whose had one with the soft tech seats for a year now. The still look new. I'll post a pic today.

Difference is more the full time 4wd, smart key system and dual zone auto climate control and real leather. Other than that you are correct. Sr5 doesn't have the silly chrome mustache either.

OP, congrats on the new rig!

Here's a couple of the interior sof-tech seats and door panels....

Found some new perks on this one. There is a button on the left side of the dash near your left knee. Looks like a defroster button for the rear. It's actually a defroster for the wiper blades. The wiring is embedded into the windshield and the wiper blades sit directly on top of the defroster....talk about a nice piece of engineering. Should help when the ice starts to build up. I'll post a pic after this post.

I'll have to wait for the sun to move a little, the reflection on the windshield is not good for a photo.

Thanks that is how it works, but here in southern Louisiana, my chance of using this feature is slim to none

First of, thank you for your service, I have high regards to men and women in uniform.

I have the same color as yours and exact same reason why i picked this color - too many white and silver, and Im happy that im the only red in my city.
