NEW 5th Gen BAJA RACK (VOTE TODAY)

I just got the below pics and info from Baja while researching the possibility of a 5th Gen GOBI, figured I'd share.

Thank you for your interest in our products, attached are a few pictures of our new Gen 5 rack (BR-TY4RG5-1-0), the lead time for this rack is 3 weeks and the price is $625.00 plus Shipping.

The rack itself is rated for 720 lb but the rating on the roof of the Toyota 4Runner Gen 5 is 300lb this is why we use the 300Lb weight limit.

Attached are the technical specs of the rack.

Looks like it uses the factory mounting points and it even has a cut out for the fin! Must admit though, the fin cut out looks So Gay

Wow , nice rack and nice truck!

Wonder how much weight it will be able to support? My personal main use for a roof rack is probably different then most people's.I need to be able to stand/sit on top and set up a tri-pod for my Nikon.

I go to alot of airshows,races and events that it would be nice to set up a couple of chairs and a tri-pod on top. It is real easy to get up on top without a ladder too as you use the rise inside the second row door jams as a step.Just put a piece of 3m non slip tape there and one step and your up.

I use to have a 2000 Yukon Denali that we used to get on the roof like monkeys all the time at weekend drag races,dirt track races ,ect. ,as it was real solid towards the back and had them swing open hearst doors.

Provided that everything goes well over the next few days, I should have a rack that was built with the same purpose in mind. I don't want to explain too much until it returns from the powder coating, but I'm pretty excited about the potential. Cross your fingers that fabrication is finished tomorrow.

All of the company's racks claim to support the vehicle's maximum recommended load weight of 300lb + pounds. I would imagine it is rated to 300+ as well.

I'll be happy to email the company to confirm.

I wonder if it will be compatable with the Ltd version? The website shows the customized 2003-2009 4Runner rack as incompatable with the Ltd version due to different mounting points.

My current Megawarrior sits so high I won't be able to do a lift and still put it in the garage. This one would give me the inches I need. Plus I like the way it looks and the extra load capacity would be sweet.

I talked to him and yes, it will fit the Limited. There is no difference between the models and rack mounts. This is per Toyota. Also, they have a rack for Limited verions of the 4th gen, they havn't fixed the website.

BTW, that is a nice Trail.

I would say that the weight capacity would be more than that of the 4th gen versions 300lb. I am basing this on the fact that the mounting points on the 4th gen is on the cross bars, and the mounting points on the 5th gen version is on the frame, making the capacity better.

The bajaracks are top of the line, for sure the most bang for your buck. I ordered mine through Sergio and he was a stand up guy, he was extremely helpful with my purchase. I highly recommend the bajarack, they are great!
