This is my first post as I just got my SR5 4Runner 2 weeks ago and have been spending my time fixing some simple things that the PO thought were expensive, so I got my ride for a great deal. (Filters, plugs and wires, cleaning, polishing and I will be doing the timing belt/water pump etc. next weekend).
However, the leather on the driver's seat is pretty shredded. After looking around on here and trying to see about reupholstering, I think I will be getting some Wet Okoles. However, there are some other interior things I wanted to get your all's opinion on:
1) The upholstery/vinyl on the portion of the door panel just above the arm rest on both sides is starting to come undone on the edges. I was thinking of trying to get the panel apart and wrapping this section in neoprene (back up material would probably be microsuede/midrofiber) to match the WO's. Is it possible to pull apart that panel to accomplish this?
2) I would probably do the same with the cover for the center console and maybe fashion a skirt for the AT shifter and 4wd shift.
In any event, tell me what you guys think about tackling this interior stuff. I'm really excited about getting my truck in great shape!!!
