Sick, I put together the K-Nex (sp?) roller coaster in about 2 days a couple of years ago.

Nice build on the Walkers and they do take some time to assemble just like it took me almost a month each on my 1/32 scale model aircrafts, one US fighter in F-14 and one Soviet fighter in SU-27.
here's an assembled SU-27 plus airbrushed landing gear and hatches of the Flanker.

Thanks man...what's more incredible is that it is an award winning plane. In 2008's IPMS(Int'l Plastic Modelers Society)Vancouver, I entered it competing with over 400 entries taking home 1st place in it's category and winning Prince George's Choice Award out of over 400 models.
I had just started building 3 months prior, competing with scale modelers with years of experience......I was stunned!

THOSE ARE FREAKING INSANE!!! My brother and I used to build models as kids, and we'd get to painting the details like that and lose interest, and we weren't doing even remotely as nice a job as you have done. I can't imagine how much patience that takes... not to mention a steady hand.
Those pics give me a better idea of why your truck exhibits such attention to detail and the subtle touches that make it look so sweet.
I was looking at those pics thinking they must be some kind of high end, expensive model kits, but nope... just your ordinary model kit, but executed with extraordinary skill.

Also, Spongerx, that's a dope lego build too man. I used to love putting together the Lego Technics sets... the ones that made mechanical devices. I had one that had motors and a little battery pack and you could make a helicopter, an RC car, and a forklift (if I remember correctly, might have been a front end loader??) out of the same kit. I know what you mean about the expense too, I remember those lego kits being $100+.

Depending on the model plane, you'll be looking to build and assemble approximately 450 tiny parts some even as small as the size of ants.
They're attached in spru trees in plain colored plastic which you will then put together, paint in accordance with the manual instruction.
Contest rules clearly states that no seams are visible on any part of the plane and must depict the realness of the full sized plane. Panel of judges closely scrutinizes all entries and look for any flaws imaginable...watching them with their flashlights looking at my model plane gave me the BIG scare!

UNBELIEVABLE! The painting is so real and detailed! Nice work. I don't think I could do it, man. There are so many colors and shades on that bad boy. A real piece of art. Congrats on the award. You certainly earned it!
Brian and BigFish: Thanks lads. As a kid I would build with lego literally all day long. My mum thought I was going to be an architect. I've always wanted to have a collection of star wars model type lego. I'm broke but decided to spend some money on something other than college and food a couple of weeks ago. So I started my collection with the AT Walker. Got it for $120. 1200 pieces. And this bad boy has a motor. :banana:

You are seriously one of the best (if not the best) model builders I have ever seen, down to the chipping paint on the panels to the greasy looking landing gear. Wow. I used to build models as a kid too, and I was always a pretty good artist, but wow. You should be working for Hollywood!

Eversince seeing some of these scaled models on Youtube, I knew 1/32 size is what I wanted for a collection. These kits sold for $200 let alone the paint, supplies and most importantly the airbrush.
Airbrushing is something I've never done before plus some of the techniques to make an aircraft look weathered like visible panel lines, different shading, some rust spots and so on...It took sometime to have good control to balance the amount of air and paint release, again Youtube was my haven for learning everything airbrush related.
My collection stopped after finishing the Tomcat, the SU-27 Flanker and partly finishing the Russian Mig-29 which I was gonna make my masterpiece(one photo'd bare plastic with all parts still in the spru tree)....I lost interest in building all of a sudden, but the experience from start to finish, to winning in the end is something I'll never forget.
