New Clutch- Engagement Still at end of pedal travel??

'87 22RE- New Clutch replaced, new clutch master and slave installed

I replaced the clutch a couple months ago. Everything went fine. Clutch still engages at the end of pedal travel though. So I adjusted the clutch master cylinder and bled the slave a bit. Worked great to get the clutch pedal feel back. Now it seems to creep up again.

Any ideas if it is the slave or the master cylinder to replace or maybe I am missing something in adjustment? All help appreciated!

did you tighten the lock nut on the master rod after adjusting?

I had similar symptoms in my 2gen. New master cylinder and new clutch did not help. Then we noticed, that the clutch pedal axel support structure was partly torn off from the firewall and became loose when pressed. Welding the pedal firmly in place cured the problem. Hope this will help.

I did do that yes.

Interesting. I will check that when I get home but I don't think so. To fix the issue temporarily I bled the slave cylinder to bring it back farther. So it seems that when the cylinder moves out by depressing the pedal, but doesn't move back as far as it should when you release the pedal? Thanks for the help!

So I've checked the bracket and all is good there. I think I have a better explanation though. Still not sure how to fix it.

After bleeding the slave cylinder the pedal feel is back to normal. When I go for drives over 30 min the clutch grip slowly goes to the end of the pedal again. I think I can attribute it to pressure not releasing the slave cylinder and therefore the clutch is always being pressed in a little more every time I use it.

What do you all think? Could this be an adjustment issue I am missing or bad parts? The Clutch master and slave cylinders are both brand new...

bump up. Any ideas folks? All my mounts solid, everything clean. Seems to keep pressure in the slave cylinder as you drive it. Maybe master not bled properly or releasing pressure?
