New dude from Indiana

Hi all, new member but as many before me, been lurking for quite awhile. We bought my wife an '06 Sport Edition back 2009, and have absolutely loved it. It is completely stock, and we have no intentions of modding it, with the exception of new wheels maybe next year.

The only issues we have experience with it are the spare tire seems to lose air causing the air pressure light to come on periodically, the TRAC/VSC light has come on, and still trying to rectify that issue. Going to go buy a new gas cap today and see if that fixes it. The brakes give off a huge amount of dust on the front wheels, which I am hoping that switching to ceramic pads, will eliminate.

Other than those items, this SUV is awesome!! Plenty of power, decent gas mileage, and the ride is fantastic. Goes great in the snow, and when all the traction control is working properly, handles outstanding on slick roads.

The TRAC and VSC lights may be on because if a sensor, there is no need for a new gas cap unless the check engine light is on along with them. And that still doesn't mean you need a gas cap. Go a click it 2-3 times and un hook the - (negative) terminal on the battery. Put it back on, do your pre set radio stations, then roll the drivers window all the way down, and hold in up position for 5 seconds. Do same for rear window (hatch window), and sunroof if equipped. And the excessive brake dust is from the pads.

Thank you sir. I did some more investigating, and it seems as though the majority of peeps here experience the same issue with the TRAC and VSC lights being on, but they also seem to have the CEL on too. I've never had that issue. Don't know what to think.
