New head unit coming in! Pioneer AVH-4400!

Alright well here's the story, I bought a pioneer avh-p3300 a year and a half ago and it has been working fine until a couple months ago. The music cuts off, it restarts often, etc. Anyway I contact Amazon and they told me they'd give me a full refund :O Like what? Anyway I noticed that the new pioneers came out so I got the AVH-P4400. I like how it has the rear usb hook up and my real favorite, the bluetooth audio!! I'll post some pics up when I get it all installed, but I figured some of you might want a review since no one on the forum has one yet

I actually picked one up a couple weeks ago as well. Its AWESOME! There's not much about it that i don't like. Be warned though, the Metra 8210 install kit (if thats the one you get) doesn't work so well without a fight!

I ran into this problem when installing my Eclipse. I had to do excessive trimming to the metra kit inorder to allow room for the tilting screen. It was cheap tho so I didn't mind.

I'm taking some time off the forum for now, but I thought since I started the thread I gotta finish it. The unit got here Tuesday morning, and I was done by Tuesday at around 2. This head unit is awesome and right now the AVH-P4400BH is on sale on Amazon for $422 which is totally worth it. The bluetooth is perfect, the picture is clear and much better than the AVH-P3300BT. This new unit is just perfect and I'd give it a 10. I haven't found a permanent spot for the USB, but pictured below is where I put the extension which I also bought on Amazon. This way I can plug any USB plug I need to into this extension and I'll hook up directly to the unit. Thanks for looking guys. If anyone has any questions let me know

Looks nice man, I had looked at these when I was looking for a double din for mine. Ended up going for a nav, but I am a sucker for Pioneers. BTW, you're almost out of gas :frisky:

Looks good. Did you tie it into the JBL synthesis system, stock system or otherwise upgraded system?

I just got gas btw ha.

I have it hooked up to the stock JBL synthesis audio set up. I was planning on upgrading to JL door speakers as well, but after I got this head unit I decided not to cause the sound is just too good.

I had the AVH-3400 installed in the wife's 4Runner yesterday after the 8400 in it failed within 6 weeks of install. It was a single DIN unit so I decided to go double DIN this time around and the 3400 worked with all of the other peripheral equipment I had already purchased. Thus far I am very happy with the new head units performance. It makes the JBL speakers pop much better than the 8400 did. It is also much easier for my wife to use and see since it is double DIN.

Did I hook what up with an amp..? I'm gonna answer no cause I haven't upgraded any amps for anything except my subs.

And yes I can control it with my steering wheel because I got a steering wheel aftermarket adapter and put it in.

You are correct. No fader issues at all though.

got the pioneer avh4400 on my 05 sr5 RUNNER, sound is good on the stock speakers, thinking of wiring up a sub and maybe later on change the stock speakers. really want an awesome sound system..but dont want to wire an amp....any tips wud be appreciated

I have the Pioneer avh-3300bt headunit, stock speakers and I added a bazooka powered bass tube unit. I love it. It sounds fantastic and had plenty of "thump" without being overwhelming. The amp is built in to the unit and its easily removable if you need the cargo space.

ok, thanks for the info.....read firly decent reviews on the bazooka tube woofers, but decided to get the forsgate 10'' X 2 subwoofer, ended up buying an 05 sr5 with 3rd row (wifey wanted 3rd row). now the subwoofer is pretty useless to me.... my options are kinda limited cos of the 3rd row, heard of the flat woofers but not sure if they hv good performance

Anybody use the clarion nx501? I want to keep my nav and backup camera but my old 2004 stock gps has to go. By the time i bought an update disc for the gps and a way to hook up an ipod, i might as well get a new system that has bluetooth as well....

I had the nx501, it was awesome at first, but then it was glitching here and there, I wouldn't get it again.
