New Head Unit / Model Year Changeover Alert

I have a late-year 2014 4Runner Trail with Nav and no JBL. I am installing a Sony XAV-AX100 and was having trouble with the backup camera connecter Crutchfield sold me (PAC CAM-TY11) which is PAC's listed adapter for that application. It turns out that my vehicle has the 24 pin connector and not the 16 pin connector that is compatible with the PAC adapter. Crutchfield was helpful and told me that the correct connector is the Access AX-TOYCAM3 (which Crutchfield does not sell but Amazon does, and Access lists it for the 2014 4Runner).

Just a heads up. Party on.

EDIT: corrected "28 pin" to "24 pin"

So are you saying they sent you the adapter for the 2010-2013 head unit, or that there's two different types for the 2014+ entune head units?

it seems that there is a 2014.5, of which I have one, so the early 2014's are different than the later 2014's.

A further note on this: Once you get the TOY3 adapter from Amazon instead of the PAC one from Crutchfield you will need to install the +6V wire into the PAC unit to connect to the yellow cam+ wire on the TOY3 (the PAC adapter takes care of this for you, so it was a little head scratching to figure it out).

Note: you'll want to install that +6V wire per PAC's instructions BUT follow the text and the picture and ignore their labeling it "pin 12" because that will just mess you up.
