New Headrest DVD

All done!

The DVD system is in! The black headrests seem to be just a tad darker than the leather that came with the car. Doesn't look bad or anything, but just wish that they had matched a little better. Kiddo loves it.

Just installed today. They work fine , picture clear sound good , kids love it. Leather is perfect match even the seams match.

wow, that looks incredible and I'm looking to do the same thing. If there are kids in the 3rd row (do you have a 3rd row), can they see the screens? Am I better off with the overhead screen? Was this done at time of purchase with the dealer?

Come on Quentin, at least upgrade from 3M tape to Velcro, then the iPad would always be removable . . .

I have the OEM nav, that I'm taking out and replacing as soon as Metra has the aftermarket bezels in production.

Harper, I'm assuming you will sell the OEM Nav when you replace it. Do you have a buyer for it yet and if not, any idea how much you'll want for it? Thanks.

howd they do that? did you get new head rests or did they cut into your stock ones? curious cause i wanna do this myself if i can

My wife won an iPad through work! It has a great screen for watching movies and streaming Netflix. With that said I am looking for a way to use it in the 4runner. I thought it would be cool if it could be installed in the ceiling. Basically have a way where it could be charged and flip down to watch. I doubt there there is an accessory like that (yet).

So I thought I would throw it out to everyone here. Any ideas? BTW the battery life is incredible, so charging would not be mandatory.

They're completely new head rests. I got my stock ones back after they installed these. It was an IOU when I purchased my car. I brought my car back in to the dealer once the head rests came in. The dealer actually contracted Car Toys to do the installation...just FYI for anyone wondering.

As far as the 3rd row seat goes...I don't have any, so I can't really speak to it. But if you can see the head rests from the 3rd row, then I would think that you should be able to see them.

Hi,

Do you guys know how the dvd headrest connect to the power of your 4runner? Is it connected to heated seat or it is connected directly to somewhere? Do you know how to take off the seat cover as well? Can you take some photos and share. Thank You.

New DVD headrest monitors

Is a bit of an old thread but I figured update it with some new photos of 5th gen rear monitors, plug and play works great
