Bought my 98 4runner about 1 year ago. I was involved in a light rollover, so I got quite the deal on it.
Its got a 3.4L, 5 speed, e-locked. I couldn't pass it up.
Lots of body work and labor went into it to get it to look half decent. We got the a-pillar pulled back out, the roof mostly straight, switched out some doors, fenders and a hood and it was back on the road.
Then acouple of months ago I was wondering through the local wrecking yard and there was a perfect body on a 98 4runner. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. And the yard only gets $300 plus tax for a cab. It was a dream come true to finally be over with the hard body work and have a never wrecked cab. The next morning I got some friends together to get me a body.
We got to ripping and tearing and in about 1.5 hours we were ready to lift the body of the frame. We to to looking around to see what we could use to pick up the cab and settled with this method.
Next step was to get it on the trailer.
All strapped down and ready to get it to its new home and saved from the crusher.
And then it got to the time where we tore apart the other one. From this.

Then we called in another friend.
added some forks to it

and at the end of the day after all of that hard work it was play time
Currently I've got about 90% of the interior back in. Its black, light blue, white, primer grey, and 2 shades of green. It was alot of blood sweat and tears, but the end project will be nice and I wont have much money invested in to it.
