I previously owned a 91 Jeep Cherokee, and I built it up into a kickass rock crawler, but never used it for that reason. So I decided to get a reliable 4runner. Its a 1998, 2wd and 4cyl. I know, I know... Not the best.. But it saves on gas and it is still a kicka$$ toyota!

I want to know what is the largest tire size I can run without losing the most MPG and power. And what kind of cool mods I can do without ruining it.

I will say that with the smaller 4CYL engine you may want to just stick with stock 30" or 31" since the truck is underpowered as it is.

There is a sticky to answer the tire size question but the answer is a 31" tire.
