Hello everyone. I stumbled across this site while researching some info on 4Runners. I'm 27 years old with a wife and 6 month old son who are in need of a more practical daily driver. As of right now, my wife drives a 2001 Honda Accord coupe. It's a 2 door and not practical for a baby.
My daily driver however is a 2005 Toyota Tundra SR5 Doublecab. I'm no stranger when it comes to vehicle forums and definitely when it comes to taking a stock vehicle and making it my own. Now most would say my vehicle would be fine for family transportation and they'd be right. However, the Tundra isn't all that great on MPG since I made it "my own". With all my specs, I average 10MPG. Just horrid. Especially for long trips.
So, I'm looking for a nice family sized vehicle with decent MPG and versatility for a growing family. I've always been a fan of 4Runners. However, the recent 5th Gen has caught my eye and I believe it's the vehicle I'm going to replace the Accord with. Now I'm not getting rid of the accord. It will become my DD and the truck will be the weekend warrior.
So, I'm here to gather information and learn more about the 5th Gen (considering 4th Gen as well, but leaning towards 5th). My plans are to use a 3" lift to fit 285's. I don't need anything extreme. Just something that will handle the accidental curb jumping that happens when a wife drives. So, thanks for having me and I look forward to seeing some cool rides!
