New member from Vancouver BC, just picked up a 1999 T4R Limited!

Hey guys, im Aleks from Vancouver, BC :cheers: been doing a lot of research on this forum for awhile but this is my first post! After about 2 months of looking around, came across this 4Runner and had to have it, lowest Miles ive seen for sale. So far did Spark Plugs, Wires, Rear axle seal/bearing.

Need to fix;

- Pass. door lock actuator
- Power antenna
- Buy a remote for the keyless entry
- Get up to date with the rest of the maintenance stuff inc. timing belt/water pump

Plan to lift it, thinking just 1" since i dont want to sacrifice MPGs too much, this will be an expedition vehicle with long drives/road trips. Gonna build a sleeping platform, down the road lookin to get a swing-out tire/jerry can carrier. Glad to join the 4runner family and cant wait to go Wheeling!

Came with near-bald tires, got myself a set of Goodyear Duratracs 265/75/16 after hours of searching and reading reviews!

1) 13.8 mpg - 90% city 10% hwy (15.18 gallons to go 209.4 miles)
2) 13.8 mpg - 95% city 5% hwy
3) 18.5 mpg - 95% hwy (mountain passes)
4) 19.2 mpg - 90% hwy (snow/mnt passes)
5) 17.2 mpg - 90% hwy (mountain passes)
6) 21.2 mpg - 100% hwy (mountain passes - driving 90-100km/h)

Did a 5w-30 full synthetic oil change/oem oil filter and oem air filter today.

The Duratracs are great so far, a little bit of a hum on the highway but i dont mind it at all, dont even notice it really. Im going on a 2500km trip to Banff in couple weeks, will have a better idea of how these things are in snow/ice and long trips.

There is NO rust, local BC car, doesnt snow much here in Vancouver, only 2 days this whole year. Wallet is already empty!

Did a few more things;

- Cleaned the MAF sensor
- Cleaned the throttle body
- Greased up Driveshafts

A good way to keep up with your mpg, fuel cost, etc etc is use Fuelly | Share and Compare Your MPG

I use it and it's great!

Hey Aleks77, I'm fairly new to here too, welcome. I'm getting around 300-330km per tank without allowing for 285/70/17's mixed city and some highway. These get way better mileage on the highway than city, than I thought. Yes just like someone said, get out your wallet, my 2 4runners are consuming me.

Hey thanks! I just did my 2nd fillup, same result 340km on 58L, so 13.8 MPG. I will be going to banff/edmonton this weekend, we will see what the gas mileage will be then.
