I'm new to T4R & also to 4Runners. I have always loved them but never owned one. I'm currently in the market for a 2008 or 2009 but can't decide between the Urban Runner or Limited package. Any suggestions?

I am new to the forum as well, located in the Phoenix area.

There are some distinct differences between the Urban Runner and Limited, it depends what you are looking for. I can tell you I personally was looking for an Urban Runner here in the Phoenix area for almost a year at one point. In that time there were only a handful that came up for sale. I never found a clean one for sale by owner and the dealers were well over priced. I ended up purchasing a Sport model. Limited's are much easier to find here in the valley if that is what you are looking for.

Please Help Me Decide...

I'm in the Real Estate business so this would be my daily driver. I plan to do a lot of driving so gas mileage, handling & a comfortable ride will be important. However, I would like to take it out to the desert sometimes & want a truck that can get me around with ease. (This is why I'm only considering a 4WD).

I'm going for the aggressive look ... thinking about adding a small lift & some all terrain tires on the stock wheels with spacers. (Preferably the 18's).

At the moment, I don't think I'll be doing much hauling & if I do, it would be a set of quads on a small trailer. I think the V-6 should be enough towing power for me.

I'd like to have all the bells & whistles. Good stereo, bluetooth, navigation, iPod connector, back-up camera, power everything, moonroof, rear entertainment system, dual climate control, multi-disk changer, satellite radio, steering wheel controls, home-link, auto-dimming rearview mirror, etc. (Because of this, I have eliminated the SR5 from my choices).

I want to make my 4Runner fast (if possible). I know it's not a sports car but don't want it to move like a tank either. Here are some ideas: Intake, Exhaust, Headers, to name a few.

I KNOW THAT I'M ASKING FOR IT ALL & THAT I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE EVERYTHING. Something might have to give ... but my question is: Which would be the best model/shell/package to start with, based on my ideas?

LIMITED = I like all of the included features, JBL sound system, 18" wheels & running boards.

SPORT = I like the hood scoop & cloth seats.

Urban Runner = Has a good combination of the Sport & Limited but not sure about the alcantara seats or side steps. I hate the Tom Tom navigation but am intrigued about the X-REAS suspension system.

Trail Edition = Don't know anything about this ... some say it's an awesome package while others say it's just a stripped down SR5. Who's right??

Thanks for the info. As for recommendations, I think with u being in real estate u might consider the LTD. with the leather and all the options since u probably need to transport clients around. The V6 will be fine for ur needs including towing up to 5000lbs. I believe. The Trail Edition came out in 2010 and is much, much more than a stripped down SR-5. It comes standard with lockers, terrain control settings (somebody who owns one could fill u in), different front and rear bumpers to increase approach and departure angles, and so much more. A real beast off-road yet refined on-road. Hopefully this helps a little.
