Able to buy less than stick on 2026?

I have a 2014 Trail and unfortuantey it's starting to rust out from the Upstate NY winters. I only have about 103,000 miles on it and it runs great. I'm looking at the 2026's but was hoping for maybe a few new colors for 2027 as the one I really like isn't offered currently. For those that purchased, is anyone getting a new Runner under sticker price? I'm just trying to budget accoridngly before I even start shopping. I've always paid less than sticker, but unsure post Covid how things are selling anymore. Thanks!

Yes I have one that'll be in a a couple of weeks that's a Limited 4wheel model and it's below sticker price.

Great to hear! I haven't test driven one yet, but owner Runners since 2003, but a little aprehensive about the 4 cylinder vs my 6. I went from my 8 cylinder in my Sport Edition to the 6 and that took some taking used to. I have to get out there soon though, but really haven't given any thought to any vehicle other than a Runner.

Dealer offered me 2600 off a MSRP of 52600. That is 5%, and am considering it. MSRP includes 500 dollars of floor mats........ and add an additional magic 500 dollar doc fee when signing.

Separately he offered me a decent wholesale trade offer according to Kelly blue book, but I think another 1000-2000 discount is rational. Carmax offered me 1000 more, but naturally I would loose the tax credit, so his offer is not exceptional or motivational.

I could get another new car, and keep my 2018 4runner with $37K he is asking. Sister dealership has a new 4x4 SR5 Taco for 4K +37K. So I'll pass if he does not increase the trade in value. No rush or pressure on my part.

I came from a gen4. I had the same concerns. But, those concerns were immediately gone after test driving a gen6. My gen4 is gone, and I have a 26 ORP in my driveway. Everytime I drive it, I think about how I almost poo-poo'd it. Im so glad i test drove 1. In my opinion, the gen6 is better than the gen4 and gen5 in every single way. Might the V4 blow up? sure. But that engine has been around longer than its been in 4runners and it has a great track record.

I'll be giving the 4Runner another look next year. I originally passed on the 5th Gen for a GX460...probably the only vehicle I would have passed a brand new 5th Gen for.

I have test driven the 6th Gen and thought it was smooth and comfortable, although I actually preferred the somewhat bouncy feel of the 5th Gen. The only bit I had trouble adjusting to was the spool of the turbo but I'd probably get used to it after a while.

Pricing in my area is generally full MSRP but I know I can either talk them down to a couple grand off or travel elsewhere to get a deal.

The turbo spool is one of my favorite things on the gen6. Hearing it and feeling it.
