I get home around 6 so that would be the soonest for me but I actually enjoy night time wheeling so yeah hit me up.

I love the way it looks. If you need any help with the springs or spacers let me know and I could help. I'm no master mechanic but I enjoy doing those kinds of things.

It might be a little while before I actually do the swap. I want to accumulate all the parts including the shocks before I do it. I am still trying to figure out if I want to go with the Bilstein HD's or something cheaper like Skyjacker 7000 or ProComp 9000. I'm really trying to justify the more expensive ones but the cheaper ones are more than half the cost. The question I keep asking myself is if it is really worth the price for a truck that is 22 yrs old.

I have a 3 day weekend for the holiday. Might be able to make a day trip happen. Thoughts on a destination? I've had jemez on my mind the last few weeks.

I would be down. I just went to the Jemez but it would be fun to go and test out my new daystar lift. Oh and I took your advice [MENTION=124673]Dbart82[/MENTION] and put in a super simple and cheap CB. Now to hit the trails to test it out!

Nice! Jemez this last weekend was nice. Some of the covered trails were a little muddy. I ended up having to pull an F250 out of the mud.

What's up everyone new to the forum just picked up a 96 4Runner with sc trd package, I am from Albuquerque New Mexico and look forward to learning a lot from u guys, also I am in the process of trying to get my 4Runner to pass emissions but need to replace the knock sensor and harness due to check engine light of anyone in the area could help me that would be awesome I could probably scrap some cash together of someone were to help me out I just can't afford the $300 labor charge a shop wants. Thanks.

Welcome! Did a little searching around the forum about replacing your knock and found this... "The knock sensors are on the top of the engine. I believe bank 2 is under the intake. I had mine go about 2 years ago, but it was easy (bank 1 is a clean shot so I didn't have to remove the intake). Often it's the wiring/plug and not the actual sensor so inspect it closely."... Another post gave the steps... "There is quite a bit of work getting to the knock sensors but its not hard. you just need 2 to 4 hrs on hand to disassemble and reassemble. You have to:
1 - drain the radiator by disconnecting the lower hose.
2 - remove throttle body unit, and hoses
3 - remove intake manifold, and hoses
4 - remove fuel injector rail and injectors
5 - now to the knock sensors, The lower part of the intake where the fuel injectors were installed, has to come off to get to the Knock sensors.
6 - Remove the 10 to 12 screws plus 2 nuts in front and 2 in back that secures that lower intake unit.
7 - lift out the lower intake unit out and you will find the 2 knock sensors 1 screwed to the left side of the engine and 1 to the right. If you didn't drain the antifreeze, it will spill out when you lift the intake out. 22 or 23 mm open end wrench to remove the sensors."...
This may also be different with the addition of a supercharger. It's definitely more in depth than something I'm comfortable with taking on but hopefully someone will be able to help you out. Good luck!

I am not extremely familiar with the process but would be willing to help. Although because you are a raiders fan I have mysteriously became busy now and unable to help haha


Also, is anyone interested in a day trip this weekend. I propose we could do Sunday mid-morning and make a trip up to the Jemez or even maybe the Puerco. Any serious takers?

I'm still a serious taker. Let me confirm with the family that Sunday is open. I'm 100% new to off roading so any where we go is fine with me. I'm out in Edgewood so puerco is probably closer but either way I'm good. Will get back to you soon with a definite answer.

If the supercharger question was for me then yes mine does have one that's why I having a hard time finding a post on doing the knock sensors with a supercharged engine.
