I'm going to be passing though New Mexico at the end of December (sometime between the 20-22) on my way back to Yuma, Arizona and I'm looking to see if you all can recommend any side trips that are off the beaten path a bit.

No, this was taken about 300 yards north of Central Ave, west of 98th. AHHS is about 10 miles south of where that photo was taken.

oh so 9 mile hill area? i spent a lot of time cruising all around the mesa in high school when i first started getting into "off-roading"

those were the good old days, when i was just happy to be on dirt. now i have to be crawling over big rocks or ripping through the desert which both take a toll on your truck and wallet

Which FJ coils and shocks did you go with?

Just off a stock 2012 FJ, got them for free when a friend did a lift on his. I was just trying to get rid of the 200k stockers that were on mine, I wasnt expecting that much extra flex, it was a nice surprise, now I just have to watch how much I flex, bc the driveshaft hits the gas tank skit plate. LOL I still need to add a spacer in the back and do something with the old stuff in the front. its just my budget wheeler tho, so I dont want to spend much on it. plus it gets me thru everything I take it to. LOL (so far anyway) Can't complain too much.

Ditto on the suspension upgrades and overdue build thread for me also --congrats on wrapping up that phase of your build. I've been happy with Chet's on Menaul in the past, but I'm thinking of trying the lifetime alignment at Firestone. Anyone whose done this care to comment?

I've had all my alignments for the last 10+ years done by Mark @ ABQ Tire. I've got nothing but good things to say about that guy, and I'll keep going there until he retires or moves on.

I got the firestone lifetime when I first installed my lift. Ive used it probably 12+ times since then. Paid for itself many times over.

Dudes! Northern NM got DUMPED on last night. Angel fire had 1 1/2 feet at 5 pm and it was still coming down. The Taos-angel fire pass was sketchy, but awesome. Can't wait for the season to start!

Decisions decisions...I was scheduled to get mine aligned after I got the UCAs, LBJs, and TREs on, but need to replace lower arm cam sleeve inserts first. It's driving pretty dang straight now so I'm not in a super hurry I guess.

Yes, yes it did!! My wife got to spend the night at the Sands in Vaughn on her way to Roswell last evening. It's about time it got cold around here. You workin in Angel Fire this winter? We'll have to make some turns for sure...

I picked up some new wheels this weekend and was thinking about getting them powder coated - Any suggestions on a place for that locally? Nothing crazy, just wondering the cost of powder vs. me painting them.
