Hey guys! Pefiln, myself and one of our buddies are thinking about driving up to Colorado for the Colorado Toyota Jamboree August 7-9 (if I can get it off). It's located in Salida, CO and it's about a 5 hr drive from Rio Rancho. Is there anyone that would like to caravan with us up there? We have not worked out the exact details yet, but wanted to let you guys know so you have time to plan.

I would love to go with you guys but I already have a trip planed for the 12th through the 17th. I'll be going to Durango then 3 days in Ouray and back through the Great Sandune's. Sounds like a good trip though.

Looking for Mechanic in Soutwest NM intermitent Starting problem

Hi

Need a mechanic to diagnose and repair intermittent Starting problem.

Located in Redrock, 88055. = 35 miles North of Lordsburg & 30 or so miles West of Silver City.

My 4runner = 1994 3.0 V6, 4wd. Man. Trans. VIN# JT3VN39W9R0148780.

When first trying to start = Just clicks Once. After trying to start over and over again it finally will start.

Replaced the Starter Relay in fuse box. Also ignition switch, in back of cylinder and key. Battery and Starter checked out good at Oreilly. ( however after it starts and has run for awhile, it starts right up. )

neck and back problems are challenging to get into starter and wiring.

Ouray Colorado vacation house!!!--- Short notice, but we just had a room free up for our Ouray vacation. We have an awesome 4 bedroom house in Ouray for the last night of the FJ Summit for the next 4 days. July 18-22nd. Price is dirt cheap! $250 total! We will be wheeling all over the area, and just think of all the pictures you will get!

You have some beautiful photos there! i like the tilt shifting as well. I love that area and will hopefully do Imogene next year.

All these trips everyone is taking is making me a little jealous now. I have too many plans this year to add a wheeling trip to the mix now. Does anyone know of any good 2 day trips around this area with some decent camping? I was thinking of trying out a trail in Jemez and camping out at Fenton lake sometime in late Aug or Sept.

I can definitely recommend either the Jemez or Carson forest for quick trips. I was just up on FS 535a in the western Jemez, nice trail and beautiful area, plenty of off trail camping up there.

I plan on taking advantage of the suspension group buy and get the Bilstein package. Anyone have recommendations on who in Abq can do a quality install?

I couldn't really tell you. For a nice Runner like yours I would ask and see how much the dealer would be willing to do it.

Check out Corrales Car Care, in Corrales of course. They do some great work with T4R's, as well as LC's.

Hi folks no need now, as I did not hear back from anyone. referred locally to R & L auto service in Silver city, NM. straight shooters and they diagnosed and did job on starter. will use them for idler arm and cv replacement within 1,000 miles.
Highly recommend: R & L service in Silver city, NM if anyone in the area needs service. Toyota trained factory specialist on their roster of mechanics.

Good to hear that you found a good mechanic down there. Sounds like orielys tester was wrong about your starter.

Ill be making the trip up from Alamogordo for the Jamboree, my brother is flying out and we will be heading up Thursday and staying thru Sunday. It would be great to caravan up with a few of you Northern NMers. I'll be there for sure since i missed last year's due to a deployment.

Awesome. Unfortunately we are going up to CO anymore. We're going to head to Bluewater that weekend, camp out there and hit the trails. This way all 3 of us can take our 4Runners. But definitely let us know. I'm sure we'll try to make it up there next year.

Wholly Cow Ouray is cool! I'ed never been up there before. But I'm defenatly going again. We stayed in an RV park in our little 26' RV (Picture is from a previous trip). The trails are just breathtaking. We did the alpine loop, corkscrew gulch, and Yankee Boy basin. I wanted to do Imogene and a couple others but we just ran out of time. The FJ Summit was there at the same time and was able to talk to the guys from Toytec and check out there newly lifted 3rd gen. It has a true long travel kit with the rear coilovers going all the way up through the body into the rear of the truck. Bear with me, I don't know how to post multiple pix while using an iPad.
