I recently had a Daystar leveling kit installed on my 2008 4runner. Right after I notice a new creaking / groaning noise coming from the rear of the vehicle underneath when coming to a stop from backing up and then again as the vehicle begins moving forward. Once in motion for more than a few feet it stops.
I dropped by my local shop and they said it is probably due to the axle angle changing a little from the lift and it puts stress on different parts of the suspension. The mechanic looked it over and test drove and suggested it was coming from the part below. I think it is a track bar? Anyway, He said it looked fine, but the bushings could be worn, etc.
Anyone else have this problem and know of a fix or if it makes sense to replace this piece? It's driving me nuts!
