New one from NY. '02 SR5 question

Hello all,
Just bought my first 4Runner, it's '02 SR5 Sport Edition.
Nice car. It only has 95K on it.
I don't drive a lot, but when I do I most often do it on the beach.
This car has stock 16" wheels, that I think a bit small for my off-road needs. I asked someone what better size should I install instead of 16", and response was not to mess with it and get the same size tires on existing wheels.

Do you guys think that larger wheels will affect car's drive-ability - stability on highway?

Welcome.

You mean bigger tires? Larger wheels wont do ANYTHING offroad, doesnt even make sense. I recommend going up one size in tires while keeping stock wheels, unless you really want new shiny ones. Get 265/75/16 BFG all terrains and you will be set.

Also for the sand, you may want to look into the Andymod 2.0 to disable TRAC and VSC. Those systems dont get along with sand.
