New owner!

Hi I am a new owner of a 2011 Limited. Just want to get opinions as to a reputable place to get rust proofing done.

Theres a lot of debate on types and places (Krown vs Ziebart vs Rustcheck). But I think finding a place that does quality work plays an important part of getting the job done.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Sorry I don't know much about rust proofing or where to get it done but it seems like in our neck of the woods, that rust is inevitable. hahaha...

Think I will be using Krown just debating which location would be reputable. So you don't rust proof your blizzard pearl t all? Nothing for the undercarriage

Congrats with the new truck and welcome to the forum.

I didn't do any rust proofing so I can't really recommend anyone. But if I wanted it I would probably go to dealership, but what they were saying they would do it right, have warranty and won't make any holes in th truck.

Thanks for the advise, I thought about it long and hard and decided to go outside the dealer to get rust proofing done.

Welcome aboard!

I'm in the same boat, looking for a rustproofing solution as soon as possible. I spoke with two Toyota dealerships; one recommended Ziebart and both recommended those electronic gizmos. I've always been a little doubtful about them, but will do a little research anyway. If anyone here has thoughts about that technology, would love to hear them...

Krown?

FWIW, my last Tacoma was a 2000 from the St.Catharines area. It was treated by Krown from 2000 to 2007 by the P.O. I continued with Krown. The truck had no rust and the frame was immaculate. The dealer was surprised to see the condition as these were also the years when the frames were recalled for rusting out.

The downside to Krown is that the treatment slowly leaks or weeps out over time. Usually a film builds up at the bottom of the doors or weeps out around the exterior door locks. I didn't mind so much on the truck but I now have a new-to-me '07 4runner that needs to be done. I'm also looking into options.
