Whats up everyone.
Been my dream car for well over a decade. Finally my Altima CVT took a crap and I spent a couple months finding what I eventually perceived to be the perfect mix of "easy to fix, easy to maintain, low mielage, without too much of the modern BS" 4runner - a 2013 SR5 with 64k miles in a pretty minty condition.
Time to laugh at me:
I had never done an oil change nor seen one in my life. Finally did my first maintenance work last weekend: first oil change since purchase in April. Was successful, other than the oil filter housing cracking AND getting stuck. Had to chisel it out, resulting in my first "upgrade" - an aluminum housing.
Next pojects coming up:
-front and rear engine skid place replacement (they are SUPER rusty). alongside some rust cleanup + fluid film application
