New Prinsu Rack No-Drill Option

Hey Guys,

I was checking out Instagram today and saw an interesting post on Prinsu Design Studios page. Looks like Zach is testing a new 7/8 style rack for our 5th gens that doesn't require drilling into the roof. No specs have been listed yet, but Zach mentioned that it will be approximately 14" shorter than their full length version. It's seems like a good option for us that aren't brave enough to drill into the roof. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for it and add it to my list of future mods.

Ugh!!! Of course I just got the 3/4 rack last week...

Also looks like the wind fairing hump is a lot less steep than the 3/4 version too

Wonder how that works if you have a sunroof. I bought a full length and have no issue drilling, but curious to see what comes of this.
 
Ah that's a bummer. I wonder if Zach would do an exchange of the main support bars for you in the future.

This thing looks awesome! I like Prinsu styling. I was staying away from every option that required drilling so this meets the first criteria.
 
I think Zach just released it today (I checked yesterday and it wasn't there). I already placed an order. For me, the 7/8 is a nice compromise between the 3/4 and having to drill.

What is the actual difference in length from 3/4 to 7/8 to full? It isn't posted on the website.

I'm not sure what the difference in size is between the 3/4 and the 7/8. But from the looks of the pictures it could be about a foot longer. Here's the link to his updated website (Prinsu Design Studio). Price is about $760 for the standard black powdercoat (not including shipping).

I doubt the 7/8 version would work well with a sunroof. It looks like the wind fairing would run right across the opening. I'm guessing the other two options would work, but maybe somebody with a 3/4 or Full can chime in.

You also might consider emailing Zach directly. He's been very responsive with me.
 
It's not going to work with the moonroof if there is a fairing on the 7/8 model. Even with the 3/4 rack it'll prevent you from opening or tilting as the fairing is too low holding down the moonroof. Only solution is to bolt the fairing slightly higher up using only 5 of the 10 bolts. You may be able to do this for the 7/8 rack as well but imagine the wind noise will be horrendous with the moonroof open.
