New project for $400

So my buddy called me asking if my roommate needed a locker for his taco. Well my roommate already had a locker but i wanted it. Long story short and $400 later I have a Elocker, switch, and controls. Now i just gotta make dig into it. I have never played with a a diff before so im curious is the ring and pinon should have a light bit of backlash? Best guess was about .5mm-1mm is that normal?

Yes. Your ring gear should have a little backlash or play in it before the pinion gear engages the ring gear. You can grab a dial indicator from Harbor Freight for $15-$20 and check it. Make sure it's good and then don't touch it or you will have to reset it. Congrats on the project!
