New Purchase

This past weekend we picked up this nice 2004 T4R 4WD SR5 for my wife. It's got a 180000 miles on it, was a one owner, and man is it clean on the inside. It's not a V8, but it does have the third row seats in it. Any ideas as to what to do to it first?

Congrats and welcome to the club! At 180k I would say the suspension is a good place to start. Check fluids...ie brake, power steering, and transmission to make sure they have been serviced. This site is very good at making you spend money on your ride, be careful how much time you send on here...:guitar2:

Thanks! I'm not really new to the site, but my wife liked my 3rd gen so much, she decided she wanted a 4runner too. We got her this 4th gen for a sweet 6900 bucks.

You're probably not going to like my answer but....

Drive it a little, live with it. Make sure there are no serious surprises waiting for you. Do the fluids, a tune up, cabin and air filter.

Then see where you want to go mod wise.

And [MENTION=150815]Trumpet[/MENTION] that's really what I was aiming for anyway since it will take a while to build up funds again. Thanks for the input everyone!

Also, the wife has a list of less serious and expensive mods that she wants done. Like paracord grab handles, extra outlets, and some Husky floor mats. Any other suggestions in the inexpensive, easy to do mod arena that we could do?

First thing I did was get visors for mines, got it from wellvisors.com . I just did cheap simple mods and then eventually wheels and tires.
