New Rear plate bumper '21+ BSM approved

There are not a lot of bumpers available for the '21+ 4runners with the blind spot monitoring system.

Below you can see the first one Budbuilt had done. This is installed and fully road tested with the BSM.

This is a narrow design staying tight to the body lines. The sides have a step in them which I'm sure is not required. As soon as the finished photos are available, I will share them here.

Here it's installed on a '23 Limited.

This should be immediately available.

Toyota seems to have been entertaining themselves trickling out slight changes to it on a yearly basis. Personally I was kind of amazed when they initially put Toyota Safety Sense in the 2020 that it did NOT include BSM which had been pretty common on cars going back to 2015.

Of course, they add it the year later...

As long as the bumper doesn’t replace the entire factory bumper (like the c4) you can relocate the sensors higher up so that the sensors still are behind plastic and metal part of the bumper doesn’t interfere. Might not be “approved” but it definitely works. Those sensors are a PITA… you def can’t just disconnect them.

Bud Built makes good stuff but there doesn't look to be enough gap between the metal bumper and the plastic bumper cover to actually allow the bumper to flex a little if it were to come down on an obstacle. I could be wrong. the middle below the tailgate would probably be fine since that is pretty flexible looking, but the sides....i feel like one good hit and the metal bumper would pop the plastic cover off. Also, I would need a tire carrier, and I don't know if they are planning to build one for that bumper. glad I don't have BSM for that reason

This customer does not intend to take his truck off-road he just likes modifying it certainly no issue with trimming higher.

With this design you can see it does not hang out very far it's made for people who would primarily want more departure angle. If there was enough interest in having a swing arm I'm sure they would have no issue in building one.
