Snagged it for a little over 11k. 136k miles. I have officially retired the first gen in the background as my Daily Driver, and into fun toy status. Slightly more than I was wanting to pay, but still a good deal nontheless.

1 owner, no accidents, slight bit of frame surface rust (Nothing a little elbow grease and paint wont fix). Downstream O2 sensor is throwing a code but eh, I work at a parts store so its 20% off. EDIT. Doubleplusgood! Found toyota's service log site, PO did all of the maintenance (INCLUDING timing belt) at the same dealership. Think I came away pretty good. :bravo:

Very nice - congrats! Is that Galactic Gray or Pacific Blue? It's hard for me to tell them apart in pics sometimes - either way it looks great. IMO you chose the best year for a 4th gen since it's the first year with the updated powertrain and the last year before the curved wheelwells and reflectorless rear bumper.

Gray. Yeah it is hard to tell.

What's the diff in the power train?

The 2005 and up V8's got upgraded to VVT, cranking up the HP from 230 to 270. And another 10 ft lbs of torque. All I can say is this thing JUMPS off the line. Took some getting used to from my "Floor it to get out of the way" 3.0 first gen.

Oh lol, I thought he meant like rear end or something, lucky vvt

Nevermind, what I thought was a hole in the manifold was actually just a hole in the heat shield. Phew. :toilet3:

So, my plans for this truck are pretty plain. This is my Daily Driver, and I have the first gen for the dirty stuff. Still, gonna do a few things to her.
1. Fix the o2 sensor codes.
2. Strip out that Xreas crap. Its shot. Pop some Bilsteins in there.
3. More aggressive tires. Probably stay the same size. I love the Goodyear Authorities I have on the first gen, will slap some on the new girl. (Whom, because of her northern heritage as a PA truck, I have affectionately dubbed Yankee)
4. Black out the lights and rims, and LED bulbs.
5. Bull bar.
6. Drive the S*** out of her!

11k? wow that seems like a great deal. I bought my 2005 V8 with 155k for $12.5k so I think you should feel great about what you got!

I just took a trip to NC and was surprised to see about a hundred 4th gens while there for 3 days. When looking to buy one over the course of a couple months, I only saw a handful driving around here in KS; apparently only ladies drive them too :(

Figured out why the O2 sensor went kaput...its coated in ATF. The cooler lines are spewing a bit. Would explain the occasional ATF smell. Dropping her off at my mechanic after class tomorrow to sort it out.

Figured out exactly where the leak is. Looks like the hard line got a bit bent at some point. Might end up grabbing some ATF rated hoses and replacing that section. (The long section under the passenger seat.) Heh, Im not immediately worried about running dry. I opened the check valve and ATF poured out (until I plugged it again. :fear: ) Also determined that I do indeed have a manifold leak, but its the usual crack instead of a gaping hole. Gonna see about a weld job, but headers are a must here. All in all, a few minor bits that need to be adressed
