New Skid Plates, Frame nuts missing

I ran insta an issue installing my sliders, the nut in the crossmember where he tranny and front skid mount is missing. I circled the nutnin the picture. Has anyone ran into this issue before? I’m didn’t see any way to get a nut in there not sure if anyone’s ran into this issue before.

I'm in the same situation, the nut for one of my skids sheared off (surprised they only tack welded it like this). I was able to get the bolt off but can't find a way to put a nut in the cross member without taking off the lower control arm.

Removing LCA is the only way to access to do a reweld.
Can be done.

Was able to hold nuts in the cross member by partial removing LCA, next challenge is the two from nuts in the front skid are broke now, those I see no way to get in to hold a nut. Right now being held with zip does and a hose clamp.

Perfect! Do these just tap into the existing hole

Yes, you can torque down on them.. I might not want to use an air wrench on it. Probably what happened to mine (previous owner). :blah:

I would do a test, but it gotta be better than the cable tie that was being used lol. :biggrin2:

I drilled the hole a tad smaller than the riv-nut, got a block of wood, and hammered the block on top of the nut (with a bolt snug in the riv-nut itself).
Undid the bolt and installed the OEM shield.

You could possibly tack weld them in.

Triple hose clamp for the mean time. Order those riv-nuts. Headed out to Moab tomorow afternoon just for the weekend. Have a few extra hose clamps just in case

There is a hole above where nut would be, it’s fairly small can’t fit a socket through. Maybe if I drilled the hole out bigger to fit a socket to hold a bolt
