New Sport Owner

Hello, I recently picked up an 05 sport 4wd. 28000 miles, long story short got hit by an unlicensed driver yada yada yada. Car is getting fixed but when i get it back i would like to change the oil. Going with mobil 1, and was wondering of its alright to use a toyota oem filter with really any synthetic. Thanks again!!

I've heard the Toyota filter is the best to use mainly due to it's anti flow back valve. Other than that the next best is the Purolator Pure One. Stay away from Fram!

Several manufacturers have backflow valves on oil filters. The Mobil 1 filter, for example, has one as indicated on the box with it. However, the Toyota ones are cheap and recommended, just like Toyota oil, which I don't use. I would say just make sure the oil filter has a backflow valve, like the recommended Toyota filter, and you should be fine.

I also use Mobile 1 full syn. with the toyota oem filter. Works great. Part number I always get is:

90915-YZZD3

The parts guy at my dealership always give me a handful of free crush washers. :bigok:

I do the same thing as Dingo!! Mobil 1 and OEM filter. Below is a link to and ebay auction for a case $39.90 Shipped. Less than $4.00/filter. I have ordered from them before. They are a good seller.
