New stealth bumpers for the 5th gen 4runner

Hey folks, Michael from RRW here showing you our new stealth bumpers for the 5th gen 4runners. These bumpers are CNC laser cut and formed with heavy-duty 3/16" structural steel plating, along with an 1/8" outer shell plating, fully designed and made in the USA with US materials as well. The bumpers are designed to increase your approach angle and protect your front end, without the bulky look of a full bumper chop.

The bumper design also allows you to customize the bumper to your needs, whether that be a winch behind the bumper, a light bar, or want some extra protection with an upper hoop bar. These options are available to choose on our site, so your bumper will do exactly what you need it to. The honeycomb guard could also be removed.

Of course, the bumper does require minimal trimming of the factory plastic bumper, but it utilizes all the existing factory holes and mounting hardware on your truck, so the install is fairly easy. It's rated at a 4/10 difficulty.

Our option is made with a blend of 3/16" steel plating for the winch mount and structural components of the bumper such as mounting plates and support arms, but we use a 1/8" steel plating for the outer shell of the bumper, allowing us to create a bumper just as strong, but lighter weight. We also offer the bumper fully powdercoated with a high grade textured matte black finish, so you get a finished product that's ready to be installed. Along with all the features, I think it makes a great product.

A personal benefit, more of an opinion, but I think our bumper looks better as well. The honeycomb guard with a light behind it is a unique touch. It's a simple flat plate, so you could even do your own cutout design, making the rig much more unique.

Definitely looks good! Ever since C4 Fab added their logo right at the middle of the light bar location, that killed the buzz for me on their bumper. Your location of the your logo is at a better spot IMHO. Looking forward to the finish product.

We do all the scanning and CAD design in house, and go through 2-3 prototypes before the final product is allowed to ship to customers, so that we're sure the product has been designed perfectly and is structurally as effective as can be. All of us here at RRW are always out and about on the trails, so we also test these products in real life situations as we're developing them, to see where we can improve them.

We made it as small as we could without making it a weak point, but still added it in as a cutout to increase airflow to the coolers and lower the overall weight of the bumper too.

We've got two options for the cutout as well, a 20" and 30" cutout, so you can fit either size of light bar in there. It's really clean with it in there too, especially if you install the honeycomb cover over it. Doesn't really affect light output much, but acts as protection for the light bar in case that lifted Taco in front of you decides to fling rocks at your front end.

Probably the same exact guarantee C4 Fab, SSO or Warn will give you...none. They don't have the money to repeatedly crash different 4Runners to see how the react with the bumper installed. To my knowledge the ONLY bumper that is crash tested in the ARB bumper.

Not even ARB crash tests. Although they seem to imply that they crash test, the fact is they don't - and it is obvious if you read their site:

"ARB assesses each vehicle’s frontal crush characteristics and replicates the crush rate in the design of each air bag compatible bumper and mounting system. Using this method ensures that the vehicle’s crush rate and air bag triggering are not altered when a bumper is installed."

In other words, they look at crash tests that someone else did and spent some time deciding on how to design their bumpers - probably far more than other vendors.

Interesting. I guess not even ARB, but they do say that their bumpers will not interfere with airbags. I don't think a low pro bumper like these will change much on how the airbags deploy.
