New (to me) 4Runner, Control Arm Issues SHAKING AT 50-60 MPH

Hi guys,

its been a while since i've posted. due to my back problems, i had to get an automatic. i'll be selling my 5 speed soon as i get some of my mods off.

I made the mistake of not test driving it on the highway before buying it... yes i know, i'm a dumba$$ fire away i deserve it.

When i got up to 50 mph on the way home, the whole truck started shaking pretty hard. it was enough to make me get off the high way. it was almost like death wobble in a jeep.

i stopped at a gas station and had my buddy rock the truck back and forth and i saw the bolt holding the longer control arm to the frame moving... so loose bolt no big deal.

i get home and try everything i can to get that bolt to turn either way... i think its seized or something! im' not sure what to do in this case.

can someone share any ideas on how to remove this bolt and replace with a new one??

Sounds like your discouraged, fear not.
soak it in penetrating fluid or some such for a day.
You can try an air or power impact. some of the air impacts have 600+ lbs of torque.
or take a breaker bar to it. put a box end on the other side and let the frame do half the work. I've had to use 8 feet of breaker bar on my dodges wheel nut. (scary)
Some guys use torches to heat them up, causes the metals to expand and contract which will break up rust.
worst case; chop it off with sawzall or cut off wheel.
it might be wise to replace all the control arm bushings and ball joints.. give them a good looking at.
