New (to me) Runner

Just picked up a super clean '01 imperial jade mica runner with 183K the other day.. With hood scoop! It only had one owner, and she took it to the dealer to get serviced - All the time. Carfax has 41 maintenance records from the dealer. It was in there for every recommended mileage checkup, oil, even a detailing. A few minor dents and scratches, but nothing serious.

Here she is:





A small rip in the center console and some of the silver is scratched off, but I like the black plastic look better. Still had the plastic screen protector from the factory on the radio..



It even has a Toyota battery in it. Engine looks and runs great, new timing belt, water pump, belts, oil by the owner before I bought it. Some minor surface rust on/around some parts and on the frame, but nothing to worry about and not the worst I've seen. Or owned.

I like it, and it has the center diff lock. Did all multi mode transfer cases have that? Definitely a good find.

I believe they did. Multi-Mode being the ability of Unlocked center diff(AWD) as well as locked center diff (Tradition 4x4, 4WD). I may be mistaken there, but that is my understanding of it.

What a bea-utiful ride you have on your hands there. I am a true sucker for the Imperial Jade Mica, definitely one of Toyota's better color choices.

Good choice. It's a splitting image of mine from 15 years ago. It looks like you picked up an IJM with the SR5 sport package, gold letter edition. They paid extra for the security system.

Go to my link for original owners (in my signature at the bottom) and look at the spec sheet from the dealer. You can probably check off each and every item.

Excellent find! Imperial Jade Mica and Stellar Blue are the two best colors, IMO.

So looking at your pics as close as I could you have the IJM SR5 Sport (hood scoop) with standard features and the Upgrade Package #1 (rear tonneau. AM/FM/CD/Cassette 6 speakers, keyless entry with remote window ...... and the Upgrade Value Package #3 sport seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, 265/70/16s on the "coke bottles", 4.10:1 diffs, 13" front brakes, color coordinated fender flares.

The 01's came with the multi-mode (set and forget) in 4WD and introduced the VSC and active TRAC 4-wheel traction control. (No manual or E-lockers offered)

If I were you the only things on my to do list as soon as possible would be new OEM LBJ's with bolts and a new radiator with Toyota Red. The rest you can take care of over the next few years.

Congrats! Love the Jade Mica, that was the color of my first 4runner, a 98 Manual 5speed. Looks super clean, can't believe the factory plastic sticker on the radio, I can't live with those on anything! Definitely wish the runner I just picked up had the hood scoop, I love how it makes em look just a bit more burly!
