I think the reason why there are so many haters in here is because you've got to realize the main demographics of this forum is white, thirties, and conservative. They don't relate to the hip-hop culture and therefore you are going to hear more negative comments than compliments. A better website to get opinions on your ride would be Cardomain.com, there are many blinged out 4Runners in there. This site is more performance/off-roading/general discussion oriented than blinging your truck out.

As for me I live in southern California and come across many types of 4Runners. Red neck 4Runners, blinged-out 4Runners, low-rider 4Runners, rice cooker 4Runners and you know what I think they're all cool.

If I were you I wouldn't even sweat the close-minded people with nothing good to say. Just keep on doing your thing.

Its amazing how a little chrome and some sport wheels and tires can ignite a powderkeg. In my opinion the chrome doesn't stand out all that well on the white truck.

I can appreciate the lower profile tires, frankly an xreas sport with your setup is probably a blast to drive and corner. Do you know what the weight difference is between your tire setup versus stock?

As for the posts that were not as "friendly" dont worry about it. Look at it as if you're hangin out with your buds, every once in a while someone gets ganged up on. It's easy to do. (Especially if he was the wingman and had to take one for the team so you could get the hottie)

Keep posting pics, it is good to see something different once in a while.

Just a humble opinion from an average white guy in his 30's with a stock (until winter ends) 4R.

Well thanks for the good coments guys.

First off, I am white, 26, and live on the outskirks of the NO in Gretna. I guess its just a down south thing with the bling and everything.

rook not sure of the weight diff. between the two sets, but I would bet the new tires and rims are much lighter then the sport ones. I loaded the sport rim and tire after I put the new ones on, they are very heavy. Runner still rides great and the pickup is a little better. Thanks for the comments glad you like it.

haha thats the most ridiculous post ive ever read.

even though of all the forums i visit this is probably the most stock-friendly one, this board still pretty much entirely discusses how to modify our trucks.

when you turn a truck-based suv that has a lot of potential to get you places most cant into a blinged out dub magazine all-star, of course youre gonna get some flack.

that said, its your runner, do what you want to it...
 
Truck mods are a very personal thing. Chrome isn't my thing, heck when I grew up we used to say, "if it don't run, chrome it", but I'm not hatin' on your truck. Ultimately, YOU need to be pleased with the look of YOUR truck. Congrats on the mods. They make the truck unique. Remember without people like you willing to push the envelope, the others wouldn't have anyone to copy 6 months from now when "everyone's doing it".

As my grandfather used to say, "if everyone liked what I like, I wouldn't be able to afford it."
