New Wheels/Tires Installed - 2013 4Runner Limited 20's

I bought my '05 4Runner Limited 4WD over three years ago and recently it's spending more time on the highway than running down trails. I decided to switch to a larger diameter wheels with a more street type tire for a nicer highway ride.

I saw a forum post in the classified section here and worked out a deal for a set of five wheels/tires (spare), along with the center caps and lug nuts. I bought OEM TPM's and had them installed today at America's Tire. They did all of the work for $85 including reprogramming the computer and balancing all five wheels, four of which were slightly out so they only charged me for the wheels where they adjusted the weights (reason why I like America's Tire).

It rides a lot nicer and is also a lot quieter now.

The front has FJ Cruiser Bilsteins with FJ Cruiser springs. The back is stock, though I'll be installing FJ springs and Bilstein 5100's this weekend.

Not usually a fan of larger rims, but that looks surprisingly sharp! Nice truck!

Thanks guys. I think 19" would be the ideal size, but handling is improved, highway ride is greatly improved and my MPG is up just a bit.

Eh, as a mall crawler/urbanrunner its not a bad look. Not a big fan of the jumbo sized wagon wheels the new 4Runners use. But, it does look nice on your 4Runner and with the mild lift makes it seem like it belongs.

Well I'm not a "mall" kind of guy, but when you're driving 45 miles each way on the highway then I personally prefer a better ride with better MPG. I also have a 2012 F150 FX4 Ecoboost with more aggressive A/T tires that I'd use to go off-road anyhow. I use the 4Runner for commuting / daily driving, towing a small enclosed trailer and to go camping. I can do all of those things with 20" wheels easily. I see lots of decked out lifted vehicles, yet most don't see use off-road anyhow so to each their own.
