Newbie from Columbus

Hello, I am new to his site so I will tell you about my 4Runner. I currently own a 2000 SR5 4Runner with abut 162,000 miles on it. I bought it used to replace a 1999 4Runner that in 2006 rolled 2 1/2 times down an embankment. I had three other people in the truck and nobody was hurt. We were on our way back from Celina, OH on a saturday night when I hit black ice on US 33 by the Honda plant in Marysville. THe road had been dry since leaving Celina so I had cruise set at 60 mph. When I hit the black ice the cruise would not release so we spun about two or three times before blowing a rear tire that caused us to roll. We stopped passenger side down over a creek with about 4 feet of water. There was enough snow to keep the truck up so we all climbed out. The cops came and said he would be back that he had to check on 56 other wrecks with a half mile of ours. I had the truck towed back to my home in Columbus because I had 200 lbs of salt and about $2,000 worth of bull riding gear in the back. I know if the tow truck driver to the truck to their lot I would loose most of the salt and all the equipment so since AAA was towing me and I had a 100 mile towing limit I made them tow it home. A bystander took the three other people home for me. Yes, I got a ticket for failure to control. I like the own I wrecked so much that when I was looking at something else I was going to get something different by my wife said get the 4Runner that I would not be happy with anything else. I use my 4Runner like a truck hauling almost anything and towing a small trailer sometimes. It has made 3 trips to western Oklahoma, and Texas where my youngest son went to school and now lives and works. It will be making another trip sometime this year back out for a visit. I don't drive anything else unless my wife has us take her PT Cruiser. I have another vehicle but it currently not running. It is a 92 Ford F150 short bed 4x4. I started working on it last spring but in July tore my right knee pretty bad so nothing has been done to it. I found this site while looking at how hard it will be to replace the shocks in the rear. They need replace since I can put my small 4 x 6 trailer on and the back end squats down and I can drag the hitch. I have put on a new starter myself 2 years ago, in 100 degree temps and it only took 8 hours to do. I hope it doesn't take me that long on the shocks even with the bum knee.
