Newbie from So Cal. 1995 4Runner

Just picked up a 95 4runner 4x4 last week and loving it so far. Can't wait to take it out on the trails after I read up on trail etiquette, gather some basic essentials, and find a decent air compressor that can fill these BF Goodwrench T/A's. My little 420 compressor just won't cut it, and the air station at the gas station down the street won't fill them up past 40.

Do you really need more than 40 PSI? Many offroad situations require lowering your tire pressure

Well the tires say 50 PSI. After reading a few posts about this tire, I decided 40 PSI was plenty. Looks like I need to be a little careful in the rain. This is my 1st 4x4 so I have a lot to learn.

I believe they say "50 PSI MAX" If you open your driver side door you'll see a sticker with the recommended tire pressure

Thanks Invader. I saw the Max when I went down and looked again. Had to shine a flashlight on the tire to see all the wording since we park below ground. I'll ride on them with 40 psi for a few days and see how the ride is. May take them down a little more if the tires feel too full.

I put 40psi on my tires and the max is 45.

First, Welcome.
Second, that was the reason NOT to have "Jeep Rescuer Vehicle" sticker on the 4runner or any sticker make "fun" of other vehicles.

Just got back from Holy Jim Trail and had a pretty good time driving through all the potholes and mud puddles. Was a little upset that it didn't connect to Main Divide rd. I really wanted to drive up to the peak. Maybe next weekend.
