Just recently got back into the 4Runner life style. I had a 2015 4Runner trail edition but found myself with a company truck and truthfully couldn't afford the new 4Runner. Anyways after about 8 months on not having a 4x4 vehicle I had to find something. I managed to find a sweet 94runner just a few days ago and am pumped about doing some work on her. I've been looking at the lift options, want to do a 2" lift, does anyone have suggestions on using the spacers for the rear springs vs new larger springs? Anyways, below is a pic, hopefully I can get some more soon and update with the progress. As far as the engine it runs strong, 4x4 engages with no problems, and all the bells and whistles work. Looking forward to being part of the community and finding some people to take the new ride out with.

Thanks guys. I spotted the bold blue 4Runner from the highway while I was driving, it was like she called out to me.
 
If you ever off road I wouldn't do spacers unless you get longer shocks. You don't want to over extend your shocks.

Another welcome from Texas, good looking blue! If your truck has the 3VZ (3.0 V6) make sure your cooling system is in top notch with clean coolant. That motor has been known to pop head gaskets, espescially is neglected.
 
Wow, that is a clean machine! Congrats! As mentioned, a big second gen weakness is the head gasket - my mom found that out the hard way on her '95 back in the day.

Thanks for the heads up on the cooling system, I'll be sure to to have that looked at and make sure to change out all the fluids.

Also, I will be doing some off roading. So I will start looking at all the options out there. Any recommendations on what brand suspension lift?

Thanks for the heads up on the cooling system. I flushed it this past weekend and it definitely needed it. As of now she is running great. Took the rig on a 200mi road trip and she made it with no issues. Fixing to throw a grill guard on it that I found on Craigslist, I'll be sure to post a pic.
 
I have a third gen and went with OME. Rides rough as hell. Enjoy. Lol

I just did the spring and ball joint spacers from 4crawler. He's a guy in California area with a machine shop I think and offers all kinds of stuff plus a small discount for forum members.

I did the 1.5" ball joint spacers up front and 2" spring spacers in the rear. (Helps to level out the sag). Didn't appear to do to much overall but I like how it looks. Wasn't too terrible of a job either.

4crawler.com also has TONS of info and other weird ass items to get the suspension geometry right.

Hardest part for me was finding shocks only a couple inches longer and when I did the eyelets weren't exactly right and needed a lot of persuasion. Perhaps a full kit is better, but piecing mine together was like $300 or so, so I'm not complaining.

monroe shocks are the way to go for rear. excellent product and price. i found them for less than 200 for the pair. stock ride height but nice ride and rigidity
