I am a new member and looking forward to finding out more about the 4Runner community. I just purchased a 2007 SR5 4Runner that has 230,400 highway miles and is in immaculate condition and has all the service records. It is a beautiful truck! Its funny, because I won't let people eat in it or slam the doors, (damn them!) but I will be using it to haul rock. I am not using it for every day travels, but rather for long trips to camp, collect fossils, minerals etc (heavy rock.) Most of you fix your own vehicles, but I can not. I live in Wisconsin. Anyone out there who can help?
I bought it because I believe it can easily run 300,000 plus miles. My question to you is how do I go about finding and working with a great service advisor to devise a plan how to maintain it? Rather than waiting for things to break, I would rather replace things proactively as money allows.
Example:
It has a timing chain that supposedly never needs to be replaced.
The fuel pump, alternator has never been replaced.
The engine does not smoke, no leaks either.
What gets priority? Where do I start?
