Newbie - water pump assistance please!

Hey everyone!

I am new to this forum, new to Toyotas / T4R etc...so very new!

Proud and happy owner of a '07 4R...Sport Edition. Have always loved these vehicles and am looking forward to modding mine slightly in the future.

However - i took it into Toyota for a once over and was informed my water pump is on its way....and ofcourse they will be more than happy to help me...but it'll cost me close to $700! CRAZY!!! :toilet3:

Anyways - I'd prefer to get my hands dirty and do the change myself. T4R seems simple enough and i will look through the other posts to study write ups etc...BUT can anyone help me with a good site where i can order the parts etc???

Any advice would be appreciated.

First, welcome to T4R.org, where 99.999% of its members are brilliant; brilliant for purchasing a T4R and brilliant for joining this forum and helping each other out. The other .001% power washes their interior.

Second, you haven't told us enough about your T4R. I am assuming that it is a 4x2 V6, correct? How many miles are on it? I ask as this will determine whether or not it would be beneficial to change out the timing chain (V6 @ 190K or V8 @ 90k) whilst you are replacing said water pump. Do you prefer OEM parts or will aftermarket do?

Yes, it is a 4x2 V6 with 62k miles on the clock.
OEM would be preferred, but I am very much open to suggestions on aftermarket. Id like to keep this vehicle for a long time...so dont want to cut corners on quality.
