After reading throughout the board..tomorrow i plan on buying the Nighthawks to replace my stock headlights on my 97 4run limited..I think i will stop at Wal mart and check to see if they have them..
My question is...is there a particular name/number i need to purchase to fit my 4run?

3rd-gens use 9003 headlights. Let us know how they are, I've heard some pretty good thinks about the GE Nighthawks.

i had ge night hawks in my last 4unner they worked great and pretty much the same as the silverstars you need ether h4 or 9003

You'll love the GE Nighthawks. They're all I've run for the last few years. H4 or 9003 is your size.

How long do they last (do they burn out within a year?)

If you have DRLs then most aftermarket bulbs won't last long especially the SSs.
I've had my Silverstars in for over 2 years and they are still going.

I've had the Nighthawks for over a year without any problems. Considering the daytime running lights, I hope to get another 6-12 months out of them.
